Campfire on the beach in Bandon, Oregon
Enjoy your fire. The surrounding sand gets hot so don't burn yourself. Fill the fire pit with beach sand when you're done and leave no trace. Fun!

Important note: You should always put out the fire with water. Putting sand on the fire doesn't fully drown out the fire. In fact, it can make the sand above it very hot, like a clam bake, and burn anyone's feet passing over it, or the fire can restart. The Ocean Shores Administrative Rules state that the fire should be put out with water. Just bring a bucket. You can haul your firewood with it, make a sand castle with it while the fire is warming up and if you turn it upside down it makes a great stool.
